The Fair Housing Act does not specifically prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. But discrimination against someone who is lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) may still be in violation of the Act or other state or local regulations. If you think you've been discriminated against for these reasons, file a complaint as described above, or email HUD at LGBTFairhousing@hud.gov with general questions about LGBT housing issues. 
NYCHA and other City employees can participate in NYCHA’s automated payroll rent deduction program. Half of the monthly rent amount will be deducted from the first two paychecks of every month. Deductions can be higher than half of the monthly rent because deductions are half of the outstanding balance, not just the rent. If no deductions are being taken out, the development did not enter the employee into the system or his or her agency is not part of the program. Confidentiality. The researchers will keep all participant information confidential and will only use them for the purpose of the study. The researchers will not sell your information to anyone. The researchers’ reports will contain summaries, and responses will never be presented in any way that would permit readers to identify you. The researchers will protect personal information by creating a unique anonymous id number for respondents. Researchers will work primarily with data that has this anonymous id and no personal identifiers.
